Solving Inside's underwater puzzle can be difficult, especially because there's no indication of how to use the submarine's charge power for barriers.

The submarine underwater puzzle in Inside is difficult to solve, and there is a lot of back and forth required to get past all of the obstacles. There are also a few dangerous sections with different enemies that can be hard to escape. The water section starts after the boy gets through the city puzzle section and reaches the underground area.

One of the most difficult parts of the underwater puzzle is the fact that there's no explanation in Inside for how to break through barriers with the submarine's charge ability. After getting past the two men in the building and stealing the submarine, there will be a lot of blockades underwater. In order to break through the barriers, the jump button needs to be held down to charge the submarine, then letting go of the button will cause it to blast through or jump out of the water and get to the next room.

After reaching the underground puzzle area in Inside, the boy can swim down and pull the pallet free, then push it to the right across the water to climb up on the ledge. Next, players can climb through the vent and press the red button to lower the water level before climbing through to the other side. After pressing the red button in the next room, the boy needs to float up, swim back down to drain the water, then quickly swim to the right to reach the ledge and go through the door. Inside the next room, players can drag the suitcase back into the room with the button, position it under the chain at the top, and raise the water level. The boy will be able to reach the chain by standing on the suitcase, then he can climb up and make his way toward the submarine.

To get past the spotlights and to the next water puzzle in Inside, the shadows from the pipes need to be used to hide. For the first one, players need to go back and forth to turn the wheel until the boy can jump into the cage. To get past the second spotlight, the boy needs to move with the pipe’s shadow, then quickly run and open the hatch before the light comes back. After going through the hatch, the path can be followed deeper underground, then players can swim straight across the water after sneaking past the dogs.

One of the dogs will start chasing the boy when he gets to the other side of the water. Players can swim under the dog in Inside after it jumps in the water to get around it, then they’ll need to run quickly to get away by sliding down the concrete ramp. A pack of three dogs will go after the boy next, so he needs to climb the fence and start pulling wooden planks off of the boarded-up hole. Every dog in the game's underground section will run around to the other side of the fence, so the boy needs to climb back and forth taking one piece of wood off at a time until the hole is open and he can run through.

The boy will automatically block the hole to stop the dogs, then he can climb down and wait in the shadows positioned before the light that's coming from the building. There’s a man at the edge of the dock and another that climbs up from the submarine, then both of them walk into the building. When they’re both inside the building and turned around, the boy can climb down and steal the submarine to start solving the next puzzle in Inside.

The boy can drive the submarine all the way down, then go through the metal door on the right. Players can hold down the jump button to charge the submarine and blast through the wooden barrier. In the large open area, the boy needs to go to the bottom right edge where there’s light coming through another barrier that the submarine can charge through. Players can continue following the path to the right and swimming down, then break through two barriers to reach a hole that Inside's submarine can’t pass through.

The boy needs to get out and swim through the hole in the metal grate, then keep going to the right to reach a platform where there's a rope to climb up. The button to the right will release three barrels that the boy needs to run from and dodge when they fall underwater after him. He can then climb back up and go through the door that the barrels came through to continue solving this difficult puzzle in Inside. There’s a yellow box in the next area that the boy can stand on and activate in order to get high enough to reach the upper ledge. The button to the left will open up a door that lets the submarine pass through.

The submarine charge in Inside can be used to jump through the door, then players can head down and to the right to blast through two blocked doors and reach a room with a button. The boy can jump out of the submarine and lower the water level with the button. He can get the submarine to the other side, then swim back to raise the water level so it can go over the metal structure. The boy can swim underwater to lower the water level one more time so the door opens, and then the submarine can jump through.

Using the submarine’s charge, players can burst through the doors to the other side where a deadly creature is lurking. If it touches the submarine, it will crack the glass and the boy will die. The creature will chase the submarine, but it stops when the light shines on it. Players will need to keep moving to the right while fending off the creature. Eventually, there's an opening the submarine can pass through, then players can turn around and charge through the piece of wood to close the door and escape the creature. The submarine can then boost through the wooden planks in the ceiling and surface so the boy can get out. Once on the sandy beach, the underwater puzzle will be completed, and players can move on to the next section in Inside.
